Engagement: Jenna and Kyle (and Lexie too! :))

Engagement: Chrissy and Rick

Engagement: Jenn and Doug

Engagement: Meredith and Drew

I met up with Meredith and Drew in June (I’m not telling when - it was a while ago now, and being SWAMPED I haven’t had a chance to blog their awesome pictures yet! Please forgive me guys!) and we had a great time running around the park next to their house, on Capitol Hill in DC. Capitol Hill is one of my favorite places in the city, and I think it’s absolutely one of the coolest neighborhoods - yup, I’m a little jealous that they get to live there!

Anyway, these two lovebirds are getting married VERY soon (next weekend!) so stay tuned for more of them - their wedding is going to be gorgeous and a ton of fun!

Engagement: Marie and Allen

Ok, well this is another late blog entry :-/ Sorry stalkers, wedding season is cra-a-a-a-azy!

Anyway, I met up with Marie and Allen last week (on Memorial Day! :)) and we had a great time shooting their engagement session. These two took me to two different parts of town that I didn’t know existed (yes, I admit - I’m kind of a Baltimore dummy :-P) and I’m glad they did! We first saw the Tulip Garden (well, there were no tulips - but it was still really pretty!) and then we hit up their neighborhood. It was a great mix of garden/urban :)

These two are soooo cute together :) I could almost picture the scene of their engagement when they told me the story: Allen had it all planned, and popped the question during a trip to Cape Cod. Marie however, didn’t believe him - and had to ask if it was for real over and over. How cute is that? :) LOL.

Stay tuned for pictures of their super fun wedding in August - there’s going to be a funk band! COOL! :)

Engagement: Emma and Trevor

I woke up to rain on Sunday morning and I was soooo bummed, because I’d driven all the way to New York City to shoot Emma and Trevor’s engagement session - and shooting in the rain just isn’t as much fun as shooting in the non-rain. But in true New England “if you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute and it will change” fashion, it did stop raining and we had an awesome morning.

Of course the shoot wasn’t really about Emma and Trevor at all - even though they’re the ones getting married, these two STOLE the show:

You guessed it, those are Emma and Trevor’s dogs (Beau on the left and Pearl on the right) and I am now completely in looooove with them.

So, we did some engagement pictures and some family pictures, got completely muddy (thanks pups!) and ran around the Upper West Side of NYC for a morning. Not bad for a days work, if I do say so myself :-D Emma and Trevor came fully prepared, and had three costume changes waiting! Rock stars!

The human part of this family :) is getting married in June in Virginia and I’m psyched to be there. Yes, Beau and Pearl will be making a reappearance (although I hear they’re only coming to cocktail hour - probably just as well, they seem to be show-stealers ;-))

Oh, and I had sooo much fun shooting in NYC. I’m happy to go again any time (hint hint blogstalkers!) :)

Engagement: Joanna and Rob

On Saturday morning I met Joanna and Rob at the National Arboretum for their engagement shoot. Rob is a friend of Melissa’s - and I’m loving the fact that living in such a small world brings me such fun new clients :)

Joanna and Rob are getting married in FL (her home state) in May of 2009 - but being a super organized bride she’s already got lots of the details ironed out. That leaves her plenty of time to put the finishing touches on the DIY stuff she’s planning :) So cute :)

I’m not their wedding photographer - so sad! - as her mom already had someone booked in FL when they found me… but I’m seriously counting on seeing these two for many photo sessions to come. Bridal shoot? Just married shoot? I’ll do it! These two are super cute and really fun to work with, so I’ll take any excuse I can get :-D Come on Joanna, lets trash that dress :-D

In all seriousness, these two are obviously perfect for each other, and I had an awesome time just spending the morning with them :)

Engagement: Amanda and Steven

Dear loyal blog stalkers readers ;-) meet Amanda and Steven! You will be seeing a lot more of these two, as I will be shooting their ultra-romantic wedding in St. Lucia this summer (they’re eloping - just the two of them, and me! How COOL is that?) and then their At-Home-Reception in Boston this fall.

I am beyond excited to get to spend more time with these two - not only are they Red Sox fans from Boston (wahoo!), they’re super laid back, goofy, fun and sweet. Plus, totally and obviously in love - which is my favorite thing to be around. I can’t wait to capture the special moment between this couple as they exchange vows in private, I get goosebumps thinking about it.

So yes, stay tuned for more Amanda and Steven… but in the meantime, here are just a few shots from their engagement session on Sunday. Luckily for us the weather held out and it didn’t rain, although it was a bit chilly. I have a feeling chilly isn’t something we’ll have to deal with in St. Lucia :)

Courtney and James - Engagement

Despite trying to throw her off for a week with diversionary tactics, when James proposed to Courtney over chocolate chip pancakes she totally knew it was coming. See, they know each other well enough that when James called out “sick” from work, she knew something was up. That’s my favorite kind of couple to work with, the ones who know each other so well and feel so comfortable together shooting them as a pair is like shooting one person… except more fun :)

Courtney and James are goofy and sweet, and did I already say fun? Haha. Plus, they like each other so much that when I said “talk amongst yourselves” while I adjusted some settings on my camera, I actually had to interrupt their conversation (which was a “deep philosophical discussion” ;-) about whether park rangers had a specialty in park policing or whether they were just beat cops… or something like that, LOL) to tell them that we were moving to another location. In addition to all of that - they’re RED SOX fans (woo hoo!) so I think I may have just found my new BFFs.

Stay tuned for more Courtney and James … their wedding is in July! (Minus the brass band, sorry mom!)

Engagement: Katie and Phil

Katie and Phil are troopers. Seriously. They inadvertently picked the coldest day we’ve seen around here yet, complete with gusting winds and lots of ice for their engagement session. I was ready for whining and complaining and a 20 minute try before we called it a day… but not with these two! Instead of all of that, I got a happy, joking, fun couple - who didn’t seem to mind the cold at all. They had some really cool ideas for locations and we had a great time driving around the city and shooting around their neighborhood. They were so much fun I didn’t even mind the cold (well… all that much :)).

These two are getting married in April, and will also be having a really fun wedding - including a bluegrass band! To say I’m excited is a bit of an understatement.

(PS The bar in the picture - Tonic - is where they first met… how cute is that?)

Engagement: Kendra and Theo

I am SO excited for Kendra and Theo’s wedding. :)

These two lovebirds are getting married in May at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens - and based on our engagement session this past weekend, it is going to be a beautiful, stylish, and FUN FUN FUN wedding!

On Saturday I met the couple in Georgetown where we quickly got into some trouble (residential area? Pssshaw, no match for us!). Theo shows us his G.Q. poses and Kendra was a mighty trooper, stopming around in the mud in her very cute boots. I absolutely loved shooting with these two, they were very sweet, great sports and up for anything I suggested.

Have I mentioned yet how excited I am for their wedding? :)

Happy holidays you two - I will be seeing you again soon!

Engagement: Erin and Dan

Erin and Dan swear they’ve never modeled before, but faster that I could say “America’s Next Top Model” they were posing like pros.

This super fun couple took me to Dan’s home town of Frederick to do their engagement shoot, and what a great location choice! We had fun playing with the beautiful leaves (seriously - Maryland foliage was out of control this year!) and exploring historic Frederick. They even took me to the library - talk about thinking outside the box.

I’m really excited to shoot their wedding in March, which is guaranteed to be a good time. :)

Engagement: Robyn and Michael

One of the absolute best parts of my jobs is getting to work with couples who are so much in love that it’s obvious to me - a virtual stranger. Robyn and Michael were just this couple - and despite the chilling weather (40 degrees and windy!) these two showed off their love for each other in a fun shoot in Federal Hill Park. Not only do these two lovebirds live in a cool part of the city, but they have such fun, relaxed personalities - and they love good food as much as I do. How did we not meet before this? :)

I’m very excited to shoot Robyn and Michael’s wedding at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation this spring - and looking forward to some warmer temperatures then!

Engagement: Rebecca and Scott

I met up with Rebecca and Scott yesterday to do their engagement shoot in Meridian Hill Park, in Washington DC. I had no idea this park even existed, but since they used to live in the area they knew it would be a great place for their pictures. They were right!

Rebecca and Scott are having what is sure to be a beautiful winter wedding, in her hometown in New Jersey. I wish them lots of love and luck in their new life together!

Engagement: Jen and Eric

My friend Melissa hooked me up with Jen and Eric, who are getting married in October - and what great models they were! We went to Burke Lake Park in Northern Virginia and let the inner supermodel out of its cage. Congratulations Jen and Eric, your wedding is going to be a blast!
