Katie and Phil are troopers. Seriously. They inadvertently picked the coldest day we’ve seen around here yet, complete with gusting winds and lots of ice for their engagement session. I was ready for whining and complaining and a 20 minute try before we called it a day… but not with these two! Instead of all of that, I got a happy, joking, fun couple - who didn’t seem to mind the cold at all. They had some really cool ideas for locations and we had a great time driving around the city and shooting around their neighborhood. They were so much fun I didn’t even mind the cold (well… all that much :)).

These two are getting married in April, and will also be having a really fun wedding - including a bluegrass band! To say I’m excited is a bit of an understatement.

(PS The bar in the picture - Tonic - is where they first met… how cute is that?)

Happy 2008 everyone! Are you ready for the big announcement? I know I’ve kept you all patiently - and not so patiently - waiting!

So. As you all know, 2007 was a big year for Emily Jackson Photography. It was the year I decided to walk away from the corporate, business world I was used to, and to take a leap of faith - faith in myself and my ability and my passion, and faith that I was strong enough to pursue my dream of taking my photography to the next level. But it wasn’t only about me, not in the slightest. There is no way Emily Jackson Photography would be in existence today without the support, guidance and undying faith of my wonderful husband. It was his faith in me, and my faith in myself that allowed us to take the jump together - the leap of faith.

And that is where you come in
